FARMINGTON — In the face of tragedy, sometimes a little laughter is all we need to remind us that better days are ahead. With this in mind, a collection of comedians, actors, singers and musicians will come together for Serious Fun, an evening of comedy and music to benefit Haitian relief efforts.

The event will begin at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, in the Mt. Blue High School auditorium.

The all-ages event includes performers from Mt. Blue High School, the University of Maine at Farmington and surrounding communities. Among the groups performing will be the Franklin County Fiddlers, Mt. Blue Voices, Mt. Blue Theater Company, Mt. Blue Curtain Raisers improv comedy troupe, Teachers Lounge Mafia and UMF’s Lawn Chair Pirates.

Admission is whatever amount people can donate directly to International Red Cross efforts in Haiti. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
