LIVERMORE — Selectpersons voted Monday to buy a new heavy-duty snowblower at a cost of $3,099, town Administrative Assistant Kurt Schaub said Wednesday.

The Ariens track-model will be bought at Mt. Blue Agway in East Wilton, he said.

The price comes in under the $4,000 budget allotted for the machine.

The snowblower will be used to plow the sidewalks on the bridge over the Androscoggin River in Livermore and Livermore Falls.

The two towns pay Jamie Roy to clear snow for pedestrian traffic.

The machine that was previously used was lighter duty and will be used at the Livermore Transfer Station, Schaub said.

In other business, selectpersons set a board preliminary budget workshop for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, at the town office.
