Paul H. Marceau
1938 – 2010
AUGUSTA — Paul H. Marceau, 71, a longtime resident of Livermore Falls, died Wednesday, Jan. 27, at the Maine Veterans’ Hospital surrounded by his family.
He was born July 18, 1938, in Livermore Falls, the son of Henry and Jeanne (Loyer) Marceau. He was a 1957 graduate of Livermore Falls High School and later served in the U.S. Army. On June 3, 1961, he married Joan L. Simoneau; she passed away on Nov. 21, 2002.
He worked for IP at the Otis Mill on Nos. 9 and 11 paper machines, and as a bleach plant operator in the pulp mill at Androscoggin Mill, retiring in 1987. He also worked at Bath Iron Works, retiring in 1999.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a devoted grandfather and loved spending time with his grandsons. He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay, a member of the I.P. Quarter Century Club and a lifetime member at AmVets Post 33 in Jay.
He is survived by his son, Jeff Marceau and his wife, Cheryl, of Livermore; two grandsons, Joshua and Jacob Marceau; a brother, Ralph Marceau and his wife, Pauline, of Livermore Falls; his companion, Linda McCarroll of Portland; and his devoted dog, Dodie.
