LIVERMORE

Richard B. Shaffer, 73, of Livermore, died January 28, 2010. He was born on March 15, 1936 in Allen’s Mill, PA, the son of George and Mildred (Cattau) Shaffer. He was schooled in Pennsylvania through grade 8 and later went on
to receive his GED. He worked at International Paper in Tonawanda, NY and transferred to the mill in Jay, ME in 1976. He worked on his farm in later years. Interests included spending time with his companion and her extended family, hunting, fishing, gardening, wood working, wood crafts and listening
to country music.

He is survived by his loving companion, Blanche Ranger, a son, Richard B. Shaffer, Jr and companion Kim and her daughter Caitlin, of Eureka, CA, a daughter, Melinda Baker and her husband John of Orlando, FL, a brother, George and his wife Norma of North Tonawanda, NY, two sisters, Nora Jean Poy of Tonawanda, NY and Lois Lingerfelter of Butler, PA, several nieces and nephews and by his loving neighbors, Mark and Anne Emmons and girls. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Roy.
