Hattie S. Thibodeau
1923 – 2010
AUBURN — Hattie S. Thibodeau, 86, resident of Minot Avenue in Auburn died Saturday, Jan. 30, at Clover Manor after a long illness.
She was born May 15, 1923, in Harrison, a daughter of Robert Henry and Helen Helena (Hodgkins) Sanborn. She moved at the age of 3 to New Hampshire, and had lived in various communities in New Hampshire. She had attended Snowville Elementary School in Eaton, N.H.
She worked as a power press operator for 15 years at Knapp Shoe in Lewiston. After her retirement in 1971, she moved to Lisbon. She was a member and past president of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 158 of Lisbon and had served as chaplin for the post as well. She was a member and past president of the Lisbon Senior Citizens and was an organizer and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Left Hand Club of Lisbon.
Survivors include a son, Dexter J. Dunlop of Greer, S.C.; a daughter, Donna and her husband, Richard Thompson, of Chicopee, Mass.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edgar J. Thibodeau in 1970; a son, William J. Dunlop in 1984; and two sisters, Mary Brown and Frances DeWitt.
