LEWISTON — The YWCA of Central Maine announces that Jill Hood has accepted the lead teacher position in the YWCA preschool classroom.

Hood is currently a student at the University of Southern Maine and will graduate in the spring with a bachelor’s degree in social and behavioral sciences. She has worked as a mentor in the Big Brothers and Big Sisters programs and has been employed at the YWCA Child Care Program for four years.

The YWCA preschool classroom follows all Maine learning guidelines. Breakfast and snacks are provided daily at no additional charge. An outside play time is built into the daily schedule and playground equipment is specific to the interests and safety of the children. Structured swim time is also built into the curriculum every week at no additional charge.
