Anita M. Lacoste

1927 – 2010

LEWISTON — Anita M. Lacoste, 82, of 38 Adams Road, Greene, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, at the Marshwood Nursing Home.

She was born in Auburn, Aug. 13, 1927, the daughter of Henry and Lena Rancourt Grondin. Educated in local schools, she was a graduate of Lewiston High School, Class of 1945.

On May 21, 1949, she married Laurent C. Lacoste. A former longtime parishioner of Holy Cross Church, she became a parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary after moving to Greene in 1983, she also belonged to the Ladies of St. Anne at Holy Cross, the Jacques Cartier Club, volunteered for more than 20 years at St. Mary’s Hospital, volunteered at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, took part in several St. Paul’s retreats, and loved to play Dominoes.

Survivors include her loving husband of Greene; a daughter, Joline A. Lacoste of Sabattus; two brothers, Richard and wife, Jeannine Grondin, of Lewiston and Leo and wife, Ginny Grondin, of Fryeburg; a sister, Louise and husband, Henry Cormier, of Auburn; five grandchildren, Jeffrey and wife, Cathy Doucette, of Suffolk, Va., Craig and wife, Kimberly Doucette, of Fredericksburg, Va., Megan Vanover of Lewiston, James Vanover of Sabattus and Nicole Vanover of Sabattus; four great-grandchildren, Camdyn, Carter, Jack, and Grace Doucette. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Irene Levasseur and Priscilla Roux; and a grandson, Scott.
