Cecile (Gervais) Korytko

1919-2010

LEWISTON –  Cecile (Gervais) Korytko, 90, of Lewiston, passed away Saturday, Feb. 27, at Marshwood Nursing Home with her family by her side.

She was born on Sept. 26, 1919 in St. Agatha, the daughter of Onezime and Mabel (Chasse) Gervais.

She attended schools in St. Agatha and then moved to Lewiston to work at St. Mary’s Hospital. She married Tony Korytko in 1942 and had an adventurous life working and living in many states. She made many lifelong friendships, which she considered family.

She lived with her husband Tony, in El Segundo, Calif., for many years, where she enjoyed her flower gardens and walks by the ocean. They returned to Maine and lived in Sabattus by the lake. She enjoyed painting and was a lover of animals, especially her dog, Poopsie. Tony, her husband of 36 years, passed away in 1978.

She was a member of Holy Family Church.

She is survived by her sister, Betty (Gervais) Theriault; her brothers, Wallace Gervais, Willard Gervais and wife, Arlene; sister-in-law, Mary Jane Gervais. She has many nieces and nephews, Carol Lotz and husband, David; her godson, Don Theriault and wife, Phyllis, Ron Theriault, Clayton Larochelle and wife, Marilyn, Diane Gendron and husband, George, Sandy Huston and husband, Carl, Debra Carrier and husband, Robert, Mike Larochelle and companion, Brenda, Glen Gervais and wife, Rebecca, Gary Gervais and wife, Tammy, Brian Gervais and Steve Gervais. Also there are many Korytko nephews and a niece.

She was predeceased by her parents; her sister Lottie and husband, Jean Larochelle; her brother, Wilfred Gervais; sister-in-law, Sally Gervais; and brother-in-law, Arthur Theriault; and niece, Wanda Gervais.

A special thanks to all the people at Marshwood Center and Hospice Care for the special care and for all the cards and letters she received from family and friends.
