Phyllis M. Pease

1933 – 2010

FARMINGTON – Phyllis M. Pease, 76, of Orchard Drive, East Wilton, died early Saturday morning at Franklin Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Livermore Falls, March 15, 1933, a daughter of Fred and Melvina (Welch) Morse and received her education in Livermore Falls schools. On Sept. 18, 1953, she married Lee Pease in Livermore Falls.

She was a hard worker, starting out picking beans and later worked at area shoe shops, including Norwock Shoe and GH Bass Shoe Co., where she retired from after 22 years of service. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed traveling, having visited Florida, Hawaii, Cancun, and Alaska, as well as going on several cruises. She was a charter member of the Farmington Emblem Club and loved her flower gardens.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Lee, of Wilton; her children, Elaine Fitch of Jay, Deborah Tinker and her husband, Ralph, of Wilton, Betty Conant and her husband, Gary, of North Jay, Cynthia Sweetser and her husband, Malcolm, of Farmington, Lee Pease Jr., and his wife, Sheila, of East Wilton, and Fred Pease and his wife, Katrina, of East Wilton; three sisters, Beverly Hilsta of Toms River, N.J., Lorraine Merchant of Newport and Doris Merchant of Jay; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by three brothers, Ronald, Clayton and her twin, Philip.

The family would like to thank the staff of Franklin Memorial Hospital, Androscoggin Home Health Care and Hospice, and Dr. O’Reilly for the care and concern for Phyllis.
