Lena Taylor
1929 – 2010

AUBURN — Lena Taylor, 81, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, Friday, Feb. 26, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin.

She was born Feb, 8, 1929, in Strong, the daughter of Erville and Florrie (Webster) Palmer. She graduated from New Harbor High School. She resided in Farmington, where she worked for the local shoe shop, K-mart, Mario’s and later drove for Community Concepts.

She enjoyed knitting, driving, working the American Legion booth at the Farmington Fair and playing “Beano.” She was a 25-year member of the American Legion in Dixfield.

She is survived by her sister, Ethel Weeks of Wilton; three sons, Robert Thompson and his wife, Gail, of New Sharon, Randy Thompson of East Dixfield and Rick Thompson and his wife, Lorena, of Manaqua, Nicaragua; two daughters, Wanda Jordan and her husband, William, of Buckfield and Sharlene Cook of Phillips; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Taylor; her brother, Raymond Palmer; her sister, Ruth Palmer; and grandson, Todd Jordan.
