DEAR SUN SPOTS: The 2010 Hartford Annual Tea Party will take place Saturday, April 24, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Hartford Town Hall.

This year’s theme is Butterfly Garden Tea Party and includes the tea party, musical performances, jewelry making and butterfly crafts, yummy desserts, and our usual silent auction. Bring a young lady or two or three to a special tea party and enjoy an exciting afternoon. Bring your grandmother, mother, aunt, cousins, friends and babysitters. It is a quality time to spend making memories with your loved ones. Honor those who love you by inviting them to this special occasion.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Hartford Heritage Society & J O Irish Museum of Hartford will be holding its annual Heritage Days on Saturday, June 12. There will be a food sale, dinner, rhubarb and bread recipe contest, children’s games, homemade ice cream, and a new item — a display at the Town Hall of period clothing from the 1700s forward. Funds raised will be used for repairs and painting to the building, with mostly volunteer labor.

We need people to let us display the clothing they have from the many centuries and decades. If you have clothing from the 1700s to now you would like to share with the public, please call Arlene Nason (224-7355), Beulah Brown (597-2073) or Rosie Henderson (597-2270).

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Congregational Church of East Sumner will hold its monthly First Saturday Supper on March 6 at 5:30 p.m. The meal will be a ham dinner. On the following Saturday, the monthly community movie will be “Because of Winn Dixie” at 6:30 p.m. Admission to the movie is free; refreshments will be sold. Children are invited to bring blankets and pillows or a favorite folding chair. Girls Scouts of all ages will be honored at the March 14 worship service at 9 a.m. All current and former Scouts are warmly invited to attend. The Rev.
