LEWISTON – La Rencontre will meet at 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 12, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 150 East Ave. The gathering will meet on the second Friday of the month for March only.
At the event, a meal will be followed by a musical performance by Les Amis. Patrons are encouraged to speak only French during the two-hour meal and entertainment. The meal, prepared by Davinci’s, will feature baked stuffed fillet of sole, rice orzo, sausage with peppers and onions, garden salad, garlic knots and homemade bread pudding. The cost of the meal is $7 each person.
The local band Les Amis includes musicians Adrien Leclaire, Herve Gendreau and Larry Langlais. The group has been performing since the 1990s and have played at festivals in Lewiston, Biddeford and Berlin, N.H. The Franco-American musicians have also shared the stage with the ever-popular Josee Vachon and have performed at many senior citizen centers.
The group performs a wide variety of French and English musical selections.
