Samuel Hayman

1916 – 2010

FORT WORTH, TEXAS — Samuel Hayman, beloved husband, father, grandfather and uncle, died peacefully Wednesday morning, March 10, in his 93rd year.

A native of Boise, Idaho, Sam was born June 27, 1916, the son of Hyman and Celia Wolpert Hayman. He was married to the former Pearl Meltzer of Auburn; Mrs. Hayman died in 2001. Together, they operated the family business, Gilmore’s Paint and Wallpaper, before retiring to Tamarac, Fla. They moved to Fort Worth, Texas, in March of 2001.

Sam served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Congregation Ahavath Sholom and B’nai B’rith.

In addition to his son, Howard Hayman and his wife, Claire, of Wellesley, Mass.; and daughter, Cynthia Hayman Labovitz and her husband, Harry, of Fort Worth, Texas; Samuel is survived by his grandchildren, Jamie Hayman and his wife, Christina, Jennifer Hayman, Eric Labovitz, Darcy Labovitz Miller and her husband, Stephen, and Jill Labovitz; great-grandchildren, Ella and Sabrina Hayman and Sheldon Miller; and nieces and nephews and their families.
