AUBURN — The Auburn Public Library has announce a partnership formed with Senior College to offer classes, lectures and workshops to older adults.

As its initial offering, Senior College will offer two one-day courses at no charge.  “Alexander Hamilton,” with Charles Plummer portraying Hamilton, will be held on Tuesday, March 23.

“Lose the Blues with a Mediterranean Cruise,” with June Spear’s humorous look at her 1960s-era vacation will be held on Tuesday, March 30.

Both courses will be offered from 2 to 4 p.m., at the library, 49 Spring St.

Since 1999, Senior College has held classes at USM Lewiston-Auburn College in order to fulfill a desire in older adults in Androscoggin County, “to encourage their education and learning experience through informative and fun courses,” according to its Web site. With a satellite location at the library, they hope to attract new participants, both as students and teachers.

The partnership with Senior College is part of Auburn Public Library’s Prime Time initiative to provide materials, services and programs of interest to older adults. For further information about Prime Time and the two Senior College offerings, call Library Director Lynn Lockwood at 333-6640, ext. 6.
