STANDISH — Authorities in Cumberland County continued their investigation Sunday into the second fatality in as many weeks to occur in Standish, again citing alcohol, speed and lack of a seatbelt as contributing factors.

Robert S. Libby, 32, of Standish, was pronounced dead at Maine Medical Center late Saturday night following the one-vehicle accident that occurred at 10:13 p.m. on River Road.

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office reported Sunday that Libby was ejected from the 1999 Mercury sedan he was driving when the vehicle left the road after striking several trees.

The crash remains under investigation by the department’s accident reconstruction team.

A March 13 crash on Oak Hill Road with similar circumstances claimed the life of D’Ann Seidell Bocheese, 45, of Windham.
