NORWAY — A race has developed for the Board of Selectmen.

Chairman Bruce Cook and Irene Millett have taken out nomination papers for re-election to their seats, according to Town Clerk Shirley Boyce. One of the seats will now be challenged by Michael W. Twitchell, a Greenwood Road resident, who also took out nomination papers.

If all three return their papers by the April 26 deadline, voters will decide which two win during the June 8 annual town elections.

Town Clerk Shirley Boyce said nomination papers must contain signatures of at least 25 registered voters but no more than 100 and be returned to her office by the filing deadline for the candidate to be on the ballot.

Other incumbents up for re-election are Donald Ware, longtime member of the Oxford Hills School District Board of Directors, and Library Trustees Hilary Ware, Charles Longley and Karen Ostin.
