AUBURN — Work Opportunities Unlimited announces that Kathie Williams of Mexico, a career resource specialist in the Lewiston-Auburn region, is the recent recipient of the company’s Frank Loughran Award.
The annual award is given to individuals that excel in helping people with disabilities find supported employment within their communities. Williams was selected for the honor because of her expertise and creativity in developing opportunities for individuals with barriers to employment and for her commitment to independence within the workplace. A key component of her work is cultivating natural supports for her clients with assistance from their supervisors and co-workers.
Work Opportunities Unlimited, which is in its 28th year of providing customized employment to people with disabilities, assisted more than 600 people in Maine last year.
