Mary F. Douglas

1933 – 2010

AUBURN — Mary F. Douglas, 76, resident of Parillo Street in Lisbon Falls, died Friday, March 19, at the Hospice House after a long illness, just three days before the passing of her beloved husband of 51 years, Don E. Douglas, who died Monday, March 22.

She was born May 9, 1933, in Limerick, a daughter of Joseph J. and Catherine (Gallant) Goss. She was educated in Limerick schools and graduated from Limerick High School, Class of 1951.

She had worked at various jobs including G.E. in Philadelphia, the cafeteria at Lisbon High School and had pursued and received a certificate as a certified nursing assistant. She mostly devoted her time to her family and raising her children.

She was a longtime member of the Lisbon Falls United Methodist Church and was active with the ladies society at the church. She enjoyed doing various crafts, gardening and also enjoyed many different types of music. She loved animals and they held a very special place in her heart.

Survivors include two sons, James J. Douglas and his wife, Amie Joseph, of Falmouth and Brian L. and his wife, Deborah Douglas, of North Carolina; three daughters, Laurie and her husband, Mark Polunci, of Monument, Colo., Lynn and her husband, Paul Bolduc, of Dover, N.H., and Jennifer and her husband, Randy Jensen, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and 15 grandchildren.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and George Goss.
