Joyce M. Gilson

WATERVILLE — The family, of Joyce Madeline (Seeley) Gilson of Farmingdale, announces her passing on March 23, with her three children by her side.

She was a very independent woman who touched the hearts of everyone who knew her. Upon meeting her, most people immediately fell in love with her sense of humor, friendly spirit and her caring nature.

She selflessly raised her children to ensure they grew to be responsible, caring, independent adults. She taught them “family first” and tolerance through her example.

She enjoyed tending her small garden, traveling, cooking and most of all, visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She will be missed and her family’s grief will forever be secondary to the joy she spread by just being herself.

She is survived by her children, Jamie Vellani, Michael E. Welch and Joel E. Welch; her sister, Barbara; brother, Roger; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, stepchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her mother, Della Seeley; and her father, Samuel Seeley.

Her spirit, love and caring will impact her family and friends for generations. Her smile, generosity and caring have made this world a better place for many. Thank you, Mom.

With love and a smile, Jamie, Mike, and Joel.
