LEWISTON — Free Grace Presbyterian Church has signed a five-year lease to occupy the former Carroll’s Music building on Canal and Cedar streets.

Jordan’s Bridge Christian Counseling, a ministry of Free Grace, will also move into the building. The church will take occupancy on April 1 and begin Sunday morning worship services on May 2.

Free Grace currently holds services every first and third Sunday evening above Espo’s Trattoria on Main Street. The church has been unable to begin regular Sunday morning services partly because its current site belongs to Grace Community Church, which has allowed Free Grace and Jordan’s Bridge to use its space.

“We are very grateful to the people and leadership of Grace Community,” said Linda Morris, Free Grace’s office manager. “They have really shown what Christian love is all about.”

“Having our own building allows us to hold worship services during the traditional Sunday morning time slot, instead of having to explain to people why we meet in the evenings. It also definitely makes it easier to give directions,” said the Rev. Per Almquist, pastor of Free Grace.

The church invites everyone to join them at their inaugural service on Sunday, May 2.
