WILTON — Wilton Police arrested an East Dixfield man Wednesday on felony charges of gross sexual assault and unlawful sexual contact.
Errol Hammond, 75, was charged after a nearly month-long investigation.
Police were called to Franklin Memorial Hospital on March 5 in reference to a sexual assault victim.
An investigation led detectives to Hammond and he was served with an arrest warrant and transported to Franklin County Jail on Wednesday.
Hammond was then transported to the Somerset County Jail in Skowhegan, according to an officer at the Franklin County Detention Center.
Lt. E. Page Reynolds was the lead investigator and was assisted by detective Richard Billian Jr.
