Lester Lee Soule
1922 – 2010
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Lester Lee Soule, 87, of Carolina Shores, N.C., and South Paris, died Tuesday, March 30, in Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his family with love. The Soule’s split their time between their Maine and North Carolina homes.
He was born in Westbrook, May 2, 1922, a son of the late Arthur and Rizpah Katherine Morton Soule. He served in the U.S. Navy as a pilot and flight Instructor during World War II.
He was a devout family man, an avid woodworker who loved golf, tennis, traveling and being a ski instructor. He was a volunteer with the Calabash EMS, Habitat for Humanity, served on the South Paris school board and was president of the Norway Country Club as well as many other things. He will be remembered as a great storyteller with a wonderful sense of humor and will be missed by all who knew him.
Surviving are his loving wife, Patricia Preti Soule; two daughters, Deborah Soule and partner, Tom Griffin, of West Rockport and Lisa Soule Wind and husband, Brian, of North Canton, Ohio; a brother, Walter Soule and wife, Cease, of Scarborough; a sister, Elizabeth S. Peterson of Cape Elizabeth; three grandchildren, Claire Elizabeth Wind, Lauren Lee Wind and Alex Edward Wind; and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Albert and Dennis Soule.
