Donald E. Pomelow Sr.

1933 – 2010

LISBON FALLS — Donald E. Pomelow Sr., 76, of Lisbon Falls passed away unexpectedly at the home of his beloved son and daughter-in-law David and Lori on March 31, where he has resided for the past year.

He was born Oct. 6, 1933, in Brownville, the son of John E. and Dorothy (Bulmer) Pomelow.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in April 1955. He worked for 23 years at Ken’s Auto Sales in Lisbon Falls prior to starting his own business. Together with his son David, they owned and operated Pomelow’s Rubbish Removal in Lisbon Falls for 16 years. He was an avid deer and moose hunter, enjoyed fishing, camping, four wheeling and spending time with his family and friends.

He was a long-time member of the American Legion Post 92 of Brownville Junction.

He is survived by his estranged wife, Elaine Pomelow, whom he married on June 1, 1958; one daughter, Lisa and her husband, Randy Small, of Lisbon Falls; four sons, Donald Jr. and fiancée, Amanda Rideout, of Gardiner, John and his wife, Rodilyn, of Lewiston, David and his wife, Lori, of Lisbon Falls and Russell and his wife, Cynthia, of Lisbon; 22 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two canine pals, Harley and Tank, who he leaves behind.
