LEWISTON — La Rencontre will meet at 11:30 a.m. Friday, April 9, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 150 East Ave. A meal will be followed by a musical performance by The Trio.
The meal will include a choice of lobster roll or chicken salad roll with pickles, chips, beverage and dessert. The cost is $7 a person. Patrons are encouraged to speak only French during the two-hour meal and entertainment.
The Trio is a well-known musical group with many years of experience as entertainers. The musicians include Lorraine Ouellette, accordion; Gerry Dube, vocals and guitar; and Adrien Leclair, vocals, guitar and mandolin.
The trio has performed at outdoor festivals, Festival de Joie and the Franco-American Heritage Center. They perform songs, polkas and jigs.
Everyone is invited to attend and reservations may be made by calling Claudette Violette at 786-6936 or the center at 783-1585.
