The Bridgton Community Center has a new van, attained through a matching grant opportunity from the Ham Charitable Foundation. The matching funds were raised through the summer Flea Market, the Depot Street Festival, a hunters breakfast sponsored by Shawnee Peak and proceeds from the Ice Out Contest. The van will be used to transport people to BCC events and mini trips. The first offerings are to Lake Region High School’s production of “Grease,” the Northern New England Home, Garden and Flower Show at Fryeburg Fairgrounds and Portland Sea Dogs. The first community center van was donated by the Bridgton Police Department and was retired in 2006. Pictured with the new van, from left, are fundraising organizers Chris McDaniels, Wayne Allen, Laurie Allen, Yvonne Mitchell and Ken Murphy.
