LEWISTON — Photography and watercolors are the chosen mediums of the artists displaying their work at the Central Maine Medical Center Woman’s Hospital Association Rotating Art Gallery during April.

Photographic work by Tom Reichard and paintings by June Dragoon are on display.

Reichard says his fascination with photography began in his childhood when his father developed black and white images in his darkened kitchen. He has worked with all formats: ­ black and white, color prints, slides and digital imagery, including infrared and metallic images.

Reichard says his photographic work is inspired by “seeing something so unique, even in the mundane, and capturing that moment that will never happen in quite the same way again.”

His work has been shown at CMMC, L/A Arts’ Gallery 5, Arts and Ale at Gritty’s, University of Southern Maine Lewiston-Auburn College and the Auburn Art Club.

June Dragoon believes color is the most emotional aspect of painting, so the versatility of watercolor is especially important to her. She enjoys painting New England scenes, floral scenes and recently was commissioned to do several portraits.

Although she has studied with a number of well-known artists, Dragoon is basically self-taught. Her work has been exhibited in many galleries and is in private collections throughout the world.

Some of the works on display at CMMC may be purchased through the WHA Gift Shop, located adjacent to the main lobby. A percentage of sale proceeds benefit CMMC. The work will be on display through April 24.
