PARIS — A benefit for the Open Sky Fund, which provides musical instruments and opportunities to children in Maine, will be held Friday, April 16, at the American Legion post.
The fund was set up in memory of Evandle Lawton, a member of the Stoned Mountain Boyz, who died last October.
Entertainment will begin at 7 p.m., with local musician Jordan Kaulbach and his new band, Blue Kwansu, kicking off the event. Also featured will be Zoograss, New England’s zaniest bluegrass boyz; Portland’s Lazzlo, roots/Americana; and Oogie James & the Satin Kings, funk.
Johnny Cashed and the Rednecks will give a comeback performance, and the Nevaeh Dance Company will perform.
Artists, including Elizabeth Smedberg, Shannon Kaulbach and Harry Brown, will display artwork that will be available for purchase, with proceeds going to the fund.
The Open Sky Fund was created to raise money to purchase musical instruments, lessons, and/or transportation, as well as sponsor events and provide musical opportunities for children across the state.
Any child is eligible. Visit www.cowpastureproductions.com and go to the Open Sky Fund link to fill out an application. Mail the application to Open Sky Fund c/o CPP, PO Box 1074 Lewiston, ME 04243.
