LIVERMORE FALLS — Selectmen will hold an emergency meeting with a town attorney at 9 a.m. Thursday, April 15, at the town office.

The board will open its meeting in public and then go into executive session to discuss a legal matter with counsel, Town Manager Jim Chaousis said Wednesday.

He doesn’t anticipate any action following Thursday’s session, Chaousis said.

Committee members sought to discuss school-sale proceeds

WELD — Town officials are still looking for members to serve on a committee to determine what to do with the $44,451.45 in proceeds from the sale of the Weld Elementary School.

Voters took no action on a proposal to set up a Weld Community Scholarship Trust Fund with the money at town meeting.

Some people would like to see the scholarship fund while others would like the money to go toward buying water frontage for the town on Webb Lake for public access, and others want to put it into capital improvements.

Residents requested another committee be set up to develop a recommendation for the money to present to voters at town meeting March 2011.

“We are still looking for members to serve on the committee,” Town Clerk Carol Cochran said Tuesday.

Three people have signed up so far but it would be good to get five or more on the committee, she said.
