WALES — Ian Bouffard of Wales, a senior at Oak Hill High School, has been selected to receive the 2010 Principal’s Award, Patricia Doyle has announced. The award is sponsored by the Maine Principals’ Association and is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic achievement and citizenship.

“Throughout Ian’s years at Oak Hill, he has distinguished himself and has been involved in many activities. He is member of the National Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of America, jazz band, drama, French Club and Ski Club. Ian has excelled in the music program at Oak Hill and has won the MMEA Jazz Festival Award of Excellence this year,” Doyle said.

“Ian takes time in his busy schedule to volunteer in his community, assisting in building wheelchair ramps for the handicapped. He has been active in his church, raising funds to help needy children receive gifts for Christmas and is currently involved in renovating the community room at his church. Ian has also completed the requirements to receive his Eagle Scout Award.”

Bouffard, Doyle and other award winners and their principals attended an honors luncheon on April 3 at the Spectacular Event Center in Bangor.
