South Paris — John A. Pratt, 77, of South Paris, died Tuesday, April 20, at the Market Square Health Care Center in South Paris with his loving family by his side.

He was born in Mechanic Falls, on May 22, 1932, the son of Albion Pratt and Esther (Mains) Heslop. He graduated from Paris High School in 1950 and enjoyed going to his class reunions. He married the former Joan L. Wilson on August 28, 1951.  He was well known in the Oxford Hills area as a master stone craftsman. He owned and operated Bolsters Monumental Works from 1972 to 1996 selling to his son David in 1996. He was past president of the Oxford County Shrine Club; Paris Hill Country Club; Paris Lodge #94 AF & AM of South Paris; Oxford County R & SM; and 33 year member of the Scottish Rite. He was an avid golfer, liked to travel, eating out with all of his friends, was a Red Sox and Patriots fan, and a member of Kora Temple Shrine.

John is survived by his children; a daughter, Holly Taylor of South Paris; a son, David Pratt of Oxford; daughter-in-law Dundee Pratt of Norway; a sister, Mary Ann and husband, Robert Roderick, of Oxford; sister-in law, Sandra Nowlan, of New Brunswick; grandchildren Jamie, Jack, Cody, Tia, and Casey; great-grandchildren, Kady, and Emily.

John was predeceased by his beloved wife Joan on May 2, 2008, sons Jack in 2002 and Jim in 2007.
