NORWAY — The Progress Center will celebrate National Trails Day on Friday, June 4, with a “Day of Giving” and is seeking help.

The Matthew Record Memorial Park and Trail is nearing completion, but there is still a lot to do and the center is looking for volunteers to help work on the trail. A meal will be served at noon to all volunteers.

The Matthew Record Memorial Park and Trail is for the use and enjoyment of the entire greater Oxford Hills community. It’s easily accessible for families with strollers as well as for those in wheelchairs or anyone who might prefer a flat surface to walk on. It is also a certified Wildlife Habitat. Wooden benches handcrafted by clients at The Progress Center are also available along the trail.

The park and trail is located at 35 Cottage Street on the grounds of The Progress Center. They will be open to the public from 4 p.m. to dusk Monday through Friday and from dawn to dusk on weekends. There is plenty of parking available. No dogs or motorized vehicles other than wheelchairs are allowed.

To help on June 4 or for more information, call Priscilla at 743-8049, ext. 266.
