PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — Portland police are investigating a home invasion in which a shot was fired and a women and two children were tied up.

Lt. Gary Rogers says the victims were sleeping early Friday when three intruders wearing masks entered a home on Josslyn Street. He says a 40-year-old woman and two children — ages 9 and 11 — were tied up by the intruders, who fired a shot and demanded money.

Rogers says the bandits left with cash and a briefcase. He says officers called in a K-9 team but were unsuccessful in tracking the three.
