AUBURN — Police zapped a local man with a Taser on Saturday evening when he refused to comply with officers who responded to a domestic disturbance at 1443 Pownal Road.

At about 6 p.m., a woman called police to say a man had locked himself inside the home and had threatened to harm himself with a gun. He also threatened to shoot the youngest police officer he saw, Deputy Chief Jason Moen of the Auburn Police Department reported late Saturday night.

The neighborhood was evacuated and police attempted to contact thet man, Moen said in a prepared statement. At about 6:41 p.m., the man left the home and was taken into protective custody after the Taser was used on him, police said. The man was taken to a local hospital for an evaluation. No further information was released.
