Therese M. Desmarais

1925 – 2010

 AUBURN — Therese M. Desmarais, 85, of Main Street, Auburn, died Saturday, April 24, at The Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, with her family at her side.

She was born in Lewiston on April 21, 1925, a daughter of the late Ludger and Rose (Levesque) Morin. She was educated in local schools and later worked for Bates Manufacturing, Songo Shoe and retired from Fancy Stitcher in 1987.

Therese married the love of her life, Leo R. Desmarais, on June 24, 1944, he predeceased her in March of 1993. She was a member of Holy Family Parish and Horizon 55. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her family, especially babysitting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, playing cards and bingo with her friends at Roak Block. She will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved her.

She leaves a son, Reginald “Reggie” Desmarais and his wife, Marilyn, of Lewiston; a daughter-in-law, Rita Desmarais of Lewiston; four grandchildren, Michael and wife, Kelly, of Turner, Michelle and husband, Shane Manson, of Lewiston, William “Bill” and wife, Janet, of Wales, and Timothy and wife, Lauren, of Lewiston; six great- grandchildren, Will, Courtney, Cole and Lindsey Desmarais, Patrick and Ryan Manson; two stepgreat -grandchildren, Brent and Kristy Lacombe; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, Robert; a grandson Jeff; three brothers, Antonio, Edmond and Romain; and two sisters, Clara Morin and Jeannette Robert.
