Livermore Falls police Sgt. Joe Sage said it was unknown mid afternoon Monday what caused Ledrena Freeman, 58, of Gardiner, to go off the roadway on both sides of Route 133, also known as Park Street, earlier that morning in Livermore Falls. Freeman’s car, which was heading toward Wilton, left the road before 638 Park Street, hit an embankment then jumped a driveway and landed on the other side of the embankment, The car drove across the grass and a rear tire snapped off. The car then came up the embankment, crossed the two lane highway, hit a guardrail and snapped the guardrail post on the opposite side of the road, he said. The vehicle then went forward down an another embankment and hit some trees, he said. Livermore Falls firefighters and a NorthStar ambulance crew worked to free the woman. Firefighters also directed traffic. Freeman was taken by ambulance to a Farmington hospital.
