SAN RAMON, Calif. — Irene M. (Philippon) Doucette, 64, died Tuesday, April 20, at San Ramon Regional Medical Center, after a sudden illness.

She was born in Lewiston in 1946, the daughter of Raoul A. and Laurianne F. (Fournier) Philippon. After graduating from St. Dom’s High School in 1964, she earned a bachelor’s degree from Rivier College and a master’s degree from the University of Lowell.

She worked as an accountant for Sun Life of Canada in Wellesley, Mass., Blue Shield of California and Providien, both in San Francisco. She resided for many years in North Andover, Mass., before moving to Dublin, Calif., in 1995.

She was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Mission Valley Chorus in California, with whom she performed at Carnegie Hall last February. She was an avid reader, cook, cross-stitcher and wine aficionado. She enjoyed tennis and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by three daughters, Michelle I. Ransden and her husband, Eric, of Northborough, Mass., Muriel L. Doucette of Salem, N.H., and Nancy T. Pineiro and her husband, Tony, of Bradford, Mass.; her brother, Paul Philippon of Seaside, Ore.; her sister, Nancy Doucet and her husband, Leo, of Portsmouth, R.I.; her brother, Roger Philippon and his wife, Celeste, of Lewiston; and grandchildren, Nicole, Brenna and Caroline Ransden, Ashlee Krauss and Antonio and Joshua Pineiro.
