RUMFORD — Archie and Amy Hodsdon will assume operation of the Big Apple next to McDonald’s under the name of ANA Variety on May 3.
Archie recently returned to the area after serving 23 years in the United States Air Force. A veteran of the Gulf War, Somalia and Operation Iraqi Freedom, he is excited to return home and start a business in the River Valley.
Amy served six years in the Department of Defense Civil Service, and continues in public service as a deputy clerk in the Roxbury town office. The couple has five children and look forward to making this a family-friendly business.
They plan to offer incentives geared toward the local veterans. Noticeable differences will be updated displays, new products and a different name on the sign. There are several plans for expansion, such as bringing in homemade bakery items in the near future.
