RUMFORD — One utility pole was snapped and another bent on Monday afternoon on Isthmus Road when police say a tractor-trailer truck snagged a telephone wire.
Chief Stacy Carter said Tuesday that they have yet to receive any damage estimates in the 2:45 p.m. accident.
He said the accident happened when driver David Dupuis, 43, of Rumford, went around something, causing the trailer to rise in the middle of the road and catch the wire.
Electricity in the area wasn’t cut, and the rig wasn’t damaged, but the telephone wire was ripped down, Carter said.
