LIVERMORE FALLS — The trustees and staff of the Treat Memorial Library recently received a pieced and stitched quilt from the Country Square Quilters of Jay and Wilton.

The quilt will be raffled off as part of a fundraising project to raise money for the book fund. The quilt is currently on display in the library, where tickets are available for sale. The drawing will be held Friday, May 28, during History Night in downtown Livermore Falls.

Construction of the quilt was truly a group effort by the club, taking two full meetings to complete. Some members worked on colors, while others cut, still others stitched and pressed. The quilt design is “How Charming,” crafted in pastel shades of purples, tans, blues, greens and yellows, prints and solids.

Carol Boynton completed the actual quilting, with curved half circles in the border and blocks that mimicked the scallop of the edge.

The size of the quilt is approximately 68 inches by 68 inches. Ticket are one for $1; six tickets for $5. They may be purchased from any trustee, at the library or at Bailey Brothers. Winner need not be present at the drawing.
