Barbara O. Collins

1934 – 2010

WINDHAM – Barbara O. Collins, 75, died Saturday, May 1, at her home on Misty Drive in Windham surrounded by her family.

She was born May 5, 1934, in Lewiston, the daughter of Thelma Bubier and Edward McCurdy. She was a graduate of Portland High School. Barbara worked for Maine Savings Bank and Maine Bank and Trust in Falmouth and Portland. She later worked for Hannaford at the service desk. Barbara enjoyed dancing, knitting, crocheting, feeding the birds, but especially loved the time she spent with her family. She loved going out to eat with her best friend and sister, Liz.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.

She is survived by her three daughters and their husbands, Kim and Bill Secord of Panama City Beach, Fla., Terry and Alec Stevens of Falmouth, Laurie and Richard Hughes of Hartleton, Pa.; her son, Richard Collins Jr. and his wife, Patricia, of Windham; 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Elizabeth Finocchietti of Falmouth and Beverly Burgess of Monmouth.
