DIXFIELD — Mabel E. Horne, 76, of Peru, died Saturday, May 1, in Dixfield, with her family by her side.

She was born in Mexico, March 21, 1934, the daughter of Lester and Doris (Jackson) Jamison and had graduated from Mexico High School. She had worked as a beater engineer, until retirement from Boise Cascade Paper Co. in Rumford after more than 20 years.

She was a member of the United Baptist Church in Peru and a member of Rumford Falls Aerie 1248, F.O.E. Auxiliary. She was a Lady Funster of Kora Temple Shrine, member of the Lucky Rollers Bowling League for more than 30 years and a member of the Good Sam RV Club. She loved to go camping, hunting and fishing and traveling, including two trips to Alaska and a trip to Hawaii and loved baseball, especially the Red Sox.

She was married in Newry on Oct. 13, 1990 to Foster S. Horne, who survives of Peru. Other survivors include daughters, Kaye Abbott and husband, Donald, of Dixfield, Karen Ruprecht and husband, Albert, of Wilton and Debby Wentworth of Dixfield; sons, Keith Virgin and wife, Denise, of Hartford and Robert Bernard and wife, Tish, of Peru; stepdaughters, Terry Hathaway and husband, Mark, of Attleboro, Mass., and Naomi Farrar and husband, Rodney, of Dixfield; stepson, Ralph Horne and wife, Barbara, of Mexico; brother, Bert Jamison of Rockwood; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents; a brother, Richard Jamison; and a sister, Betty Vallee.
