TURNER — Ricky Poulin belted an RBI single in the seventh inning to drive in Tim Dow and lift Leavitt to a 3-2 victory over MCI in KVAC baseball action Monday.

Poulin led the Hornets (3-4) with two hits and the walk-off RBI to clinch the game. Christian McBriearty worked the first four innings and gave up just one hit to record the win.

Izumi Ioia started out on the mound for MCI (1-6) and was tagged with the loss after four damaging frames.

Mt. Abram 1, Telstar 0

BETHEL — Tim Smith belted an RBI double in the third inning to lift Mt. Abram to a 1-0 victory over Telstar in MVC baseball action Monday.

Jay Chouinard got on base for the Roadrunners (4-2) with a single, moved to second on a sacrifice bunt and was driven home by Smith. Aaron McGinness scattered three hits in seven innings of work to post the shutout.

Corey Howard belted a double for the Rebels (3-3), but did so with empty bases. Kyle Peterson started out on the hill for Telstar and suffered the loss.

Edward Little 16, Messalonskee 3

AUBURN — The Edward Little baseball squad erupted for 10 runs in the second inning and pulled away to a 16-3 victory over Messalonskee in a KVAC matchup Monday.

Timmy Mains started off the big frame in unusual fashion, scoring on an infield popup. That opened the can, and the Eddies (3-4) reacted with steady hits and RBIs from there on. Ryan Arnold belted three hits and had three RBIs, while Kenzie Souders had two hits and scored four runs. Nate Blais also contributed with an RBI double.

Mat Gordon scattered four hits in five innings to post the win for Edward Little. Phil Cormier suffered the loss for Messalonskee (5-3).

Lisbon 10, Boothbay 0

LISBON — Marcus Bubar went 2-for-2 from the plate with a double and a triple, and struck out seven from the mound to lead Lisbon to a 10-0 shutout victory over Bootbhay in baseball action Monday.

The Greyhounds (6-1) picked up the tempo in the fourth inning to improve on a 1-0 lead with five runs. Tobey Harrington produced a double and two RBIs for Lisbon.

Though Tim Norwood and Joey Hersom had singles in the first inning, and Nick Timberlake had a double in the third, the Seahawks (1-6) were unable to plate any runs.

St. Dom’s 7, Monmouth 0

AUBURN — Junior first baseman Kurt Johnson doubled in the first inning to plate a pair of runs as St. Dom’s sailed to a 7-0 shutout victory over Monmouth in baseball action Monday.

Garrett Darnell singled in the third run of the first inning for the Saints (5-2). Sophomore Joe Bryant had an outstanding pitching performance, giving up only one hit and one walk, while fanning six batters for the win.

The Monmouth defense was in a bit of disarray, making six errors in the game. Billy Cummings recorded the only hit with a single.

Poland 5, Falmouth 4

FALMOUTH — Ben Goyette belted a two-run double in the top of the seventh to lift Poland to a5-4 victory over Falmouth in an WMC baseball matchup Monday.

Mike Littlefield led the Knights (2-7) with three hits and two RBIs, while Goyette added a pair of hits. Mat Brewster scattered eight hits in six innings to earn the win.

Matt McDowell, Mitch Beaulieu and Ben Burns all belted two hits for Falmouth (5-2) in a well-balanced attack.

Camden Hills 5, Oak Hill 4

CAMDEN — Mike Crockett hit a blooper to right field that allowed Jeff Gabrielle to reach home as Camden Hills squeaked out a 5-4 triumph over Oak Hill in KVAC baseball action.

Kevin Pierce led Camden Hills (4-3) with a two-run double in the fourth inning and two hits overall. Zach Dufour also contributed with two hits and one RBI. Adam Lanweiss went the distance for Camden Hills to pick up the win.

Adam Soucy and Tim Levesque led the Raiders (2-5) with two hits each, while Josh Martin suffered the loss.

Georges Valley 11, Winthrop 0

WINTHROP — Sophomore outfielder Dylan Maloney clubbed a pair of doubles to assist Georges Valley in an 11-0 blanking of Winthrop in MVC baseball action Monday.

The Buccaneers (3-3) built a a 6-0 lead through the first four innings and rallied for five runs in the top of the fifth to invoke the 10-run mercy rule as the Ramblers (2-2) failed to garner any runs in the bottom half of the frame.

Pitcher Alec Young struck out five, while walking two and giving up only three hits for Georges Valley.

Travis Luce, who pitched and caught in the game, had two of the Ramblers’ three hits in the losing effort.
