The Lewiston Planning Board will take its first look at a proposed rezoning of land off Summer Street — including the site of Tufts Brothers Printers — when it meets Tuesday night.

Under a city planning staff proposal, an area bounded by Summer Street, Sunny Side Park, the Maine Central Railroad Tracks and the Vietnam Veteran’s Bridge right-of-way, and parallel to the Androscoggin River resource protection zone, would be rezoned from residential 8 to commercial.

The proposed change would affect property including Sunny Side Park and Riverside Cemetery, which are permitted uses in both the R-8 and commercial zones.
