ANDOVER, — Minnie M. Akers, 89, of Andover, died Thursday, May 12, at her residence with her loving family by her side.

She was born July 19, 1920, in Andover, the daughter of William Clifford and Irma (Cutting) Pawe. Her mother died when she was 5 years old and she was raised by her aunt and uncle Lee and Rena Falkenham throughout her school years in Andover.

She was married in South Paris in 1938 to Raymond I. Akers, who died in Andover, June 3, 1974. They lived in Andover and spent time at Roxbury Pond and their log cabin. Later, they lived in Crystal Beach, Fla., happily for many winters.

She was a member of the Andover Congregational Church, the Pythian Sisters, and a 50-year member of the Eastern Star. She was a beautiful lady who cherished her family and friends and will be sadly missed.

She is survived by three daughters, Beverly Swan and husband, William, of Andover, Linda Percival and husband, John, of Andover and Julia Gribbin and husband, Tim, of Solebury, Pa., and Andover; and Florida daughter, Linda Creighton; seven granddaughters, Kaye Moren, Karen Swan, Stephanie Percival, Jennifer Mendenhall, Angela Percival, Brigid and Brenna Gribbin; and four great-grandchildren, Erica and Jeremy Moren, Carson McKay and Sophia Percival.
