JAY — The Daughters of Isabella Circle 677 from St. Rose of Lima met for a business meeting on May 12. The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Regent Laurie Gagnepain.

The members were led in the restoration of the rosary by Chancellor Laurieanne Castonguay. Recording Secretary Louise Chandler read the minutes from the April business meeting. A ceremony was held for deceased member Marguerite Castonguay.

Chandler read thank you cards she received from the family of Maggie Dufour, for the five Mass intentions submitted in honor of Dufour; from the women’s American Legion Auxiliary for sponsoring Girls State candidate Alexendra Synder; and from the Good Neighbors Tri-Town Fuel Assistance program for the donation the group gave for fuel assistance.

Gagnepain read a letter she received from International Regent Elaine Fletcher. Gagnepain also read a reminder letter from Janet Crocet, international director publicity committee, about the upcoming International Convention in Montreal, Canada. Crocet also invited the Daughters to participate in the Membership Blitz and provided a press release form to use in advertising at the International Convention.

Gagnepain read a letter she received from Beverly Boyt, international director and chairperson. There was one application for membership, from Mary Chassie, and it was voted to accept her application. A get well card was sent to Treasurer Louise Chabot and a sympathy card was sent to Kim Couture for the loss of her brother.

Gagnepain read a letter from Gail-Kerns Dube asking to take the summer off from calling members to make desserts for the Knights of Columbus free public suppers. Rita Crowley offered to make the calls. Gagnepain thanked everyone who helped at the Daughters’ yard sale, she thanked everyone who filled out their volunteer vouchers for helping that day and she thanked everyone who helped sell carnations after the Masses on Mother’s Day at St. Rose and at St. Josephs.
