FARMINGTON — Health care clinicians are invited to attend a conference titled “Coming to our Senses: The Heart of Medicine and the Return of Meaning,” on June 4 at the Ben Franklin Center at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington.

All health care professionals including doctors, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses and students in the health care field are welcome to attend.

The keynote speaker will be Dr. Michael Krasner, whose interests lie in the connection between health professional well-being and the effectiveness of the healing relationship. He is an associate professor of clinical medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry and practices primary care internal medicine in Rochester, N.Y. Dr. Krasner has been teaching mindfulness-based stress reduction to patients, medical students, and health professionals for more than 10 years.

Two repeated sessions will be offered, the first from 7 to 10:30 a.m., and the final session from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Topics will include: physician burnout, mindfulness-based interventions, and mindfulness in your own practice.

The $25 tuition fee includes the program, continuing education credits, breakfast or lunch and refreshments. There is no fee for Franklin Community Health Network employees.
