KENNEBUNK — Denis R. Bryant, 65, of Bowie, Md., formerly of Lewiston died tragically in an automobile accident on the Maine Turnpike on April 8, in Kennebunk. His wife, Patricia who was his passenger, died as a result of her injuries 12 days later on April 20, at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

He was born in Lewiston, July 7, 1944, the son of Russell and Beatrice (Greenleaf) Bryant. He grew up in Lynn, Mass., where he graduated from Lynn English high school. He then continued his education at Bentley College majoring in accounting.

After his education, he served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. After serving his country, he was employed with Arco Oil Co., and later began his own oil company, Griffith Consumers, and acted as president for many years until retiring. He and Pat then became real estate agents and opened a medical supply business called Georgia Star.

Survivors include a brother, Gerald “Jerry” Bryant and his wife, Donna, of Windham; one nephew, Michael Bryant and his wife, Donna, of Marlboro, Mass.; a grandniece, Maeve Bryant; a niece, Deborah Goold and her husband, Jerrett, of Westbrook. Patricia’s survivors include siblings, Margaret Stirnweiss and Elizabeth Soper of Alexandria, Va., Lyn Stirnweiss of Kent, Conn., and Paul Stirnweiss of New York.
