PARIS — While opening day on May 8 for the Fox School Farmers Market in Paris may have been a dreary one with chilly showers, organizers say the market’s appreciation for its customers’ support has not dampened one bit.

The market continues this week with complimentary pancakes and door prizes. Pancakes made from scratch with local eggs, maple syrup, and farm fresh milk will be served up from 10 a.m. to noon at the Harvest Moon Produce booth.

Market organizers say when customers stop by for pancakes, they will draw a ticket to see if they are an instant winner for a door prize of a locally grown, hardy perennial. Prize selections include a bleeding heart, lady’s mantle and a cluster bellflower.

The market is located at 10 East Main St., South Paris, and is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Organizers say the market enables customers to talk to the farmers who grow the food. Supporting the farmers market keeps locally earned dollars local and allows farmers to help support other local businesses.
