AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) — A man suspected of burning down a Vassalboro coffee shop that featured topless waitresses is back in Maine.
Prosecutors say Raymond Bellavance Jr. was brought back to Maine Wednesday following his arrest earlier this month in South Carolina.
Prosecutors say The 49-year-old Bellavance is due in court Friday where he will be arraigned on an arson charge.
The Augusta man is a former boyfriend of a waitress at the Grand View Topless Coffee Shop. He’s charged with burning the shop down last June.
Bellavance went missing after he was released from jail in Augusta on April 2 after being held on an unrelated charge.
Coffee shop owner Donald Crabtree has since reopened his coffee shop in a trailer.
