Maine children’s book author Lynn Plourde demonstrated Thursday to Livermore Elementary School second-graders how to become better writers. Plourde of Winthrop has written a variety of books including “Pigs in the Mud in the Middle of the Road.” Besides working with students and teachers, Plourde presented a family literacy night on Wednesday that drew 111 people, Regional School Unit 36 literacy coach Karen Hardy said.
